Nightswimming / The Void

Nightswimming (Digital Video, 17 mins, 2009)

The water-filled cave contains a moving darkness, flicked and spotted with light, unfocussed and stirring in sleep like the human mind.  Its meaningless code fails and puzzles the perception, offering only uncertainty and instability.

It has no answers.

Spindrift

Between mountain and sea

     Between mountain and sea

Honey and salt - land smell and sea smell,
as in the long ago, as in forever.

The days pick me up and carry me off,
     half-child, half-prisoner,

on their journey that I'll share
     for a while.

They wound me and they bless me
    with strange gifts:

    the salt of absence,
    the honey of memory.
